Elisa  from bikes to dozers

Elisa is Weber Shandwick Switzerland’s indomitable cycling commuter and Intern turned Senior Account Manager. Her job is – as simple as it sounds – ensuring clients’ needs are met. She supports and manages pan-European and global campaigns and events for Caterpillar and Abbott.

For Abbott, she works across most divisions – diabetes, diagnostics, corporate and medicines business. Through her work, she explores her interests in strategy, content, corporate communication, and digital and social media marketing.

For Caterpillar, she works on big and small machines, parts, aftermarket services, and e-commerce promotional campaigns – providing 360° support to her clients. Her work has taken her to some pretty cool events and project sites. The Caterpillar Demonstration & Learning Center in Malaga is hard to beat, surrounded by dozers and excavators.

She grew up in Como, Italy, and speaks Italian, English, and French. Before joining Weber Shandwick in July 2019 (4 years soon, wow!), she got her BSc in Communication Sciences from the University of Lugano and her MSc in International Business Development from the University of Neuchâtel.

Sustainability, humanitarian action, and astronomy are high on the list of things she cares about, and she has been a Red Cross volunteer for the past 6 years.

She loves cycling. Lots of cycling. To work, from work. In the Swiss countryside. She enjoys the freedom it gives her, and she recently started a training program as she is curious to know how far she can push herself.

If not cycling, there’s a good chance she is on the sofa watching a true crime series (but her favorite movie is Little Miss Sunshine ❤️).

Aside from cycling, she loves music – she is currently into 70s/80s classic Italian songs, but punk music always holds a special place in her heart. She used to play the drums.

Hailing from a culture renowned for its cuisine, her favourite food is… well… bread with strawberry jam. But pizza and pasta aren’t far behind (carb loading is important!). Choosing between the two is like choosing between her mom and dad. But she’ll go with pizza if forced to decide. As for pasta, she (kind of) respects everyone’s freedom to put ketchup on it. Just don’t tell her about it.

If you’re looking for a place to eat in Geneva, she recommends Taqueria Los Cunados for the best tacos and margaritas in town!

Her alternate universe superpower is talking to animals. Her real-world superpower is being able to fall asleep literally everywhere.

The last book she read is Auntie Mame by Patrick Dennis.

She wishes she could say she is a dog person, but cats are clearly superior.

Her dream is to open a flower shop.
