Giancarlo Bruno

Giancarlo Bruno serves as Senior Advisor to the International division of the Milken Institute, to Motive Partners Investment and Business Integration Partners Consulting on thought leadership.

 

He previously served as Head of International Coverage at Deutsche Bank in New York and Head of Corporate Partnerships at UBS, where he developed partnerships with international organizations, financial institutions, corporations and donor institutions focused on sustainable economic growth. Prior to UBS, Giancarlo spent fifteen years at the World Economic Forum, serving on its Executive Committee and as Global Head of the Financial Institutions Group, where he oversaw more than 200 partnerships with leading financial institutions worldwide.

 

Earlier in his career, he worked in banking in Vienna, London, Luxembourg and Geneva, and held roles with the United Nations and UNIDO, the European Parliament and Istat. He also served in the Italian Airforce.

 

Giancarlo graduated with honors in Economics and Business Management from Università Commerciale L. Bocconi and holds a CEMS Master from the University of Economics of Vienna and a Global Master of Arts from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

 

He taught at Bocconi University as Associate Professor in Political Science, and served as Chairman of the Foundation of Illimity Bank, where he previously was a member of the Board of Directors. He was appointed Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and is a member of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem by appointment of King Charles III.
